Position Title: Teacher’s Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
1. Classroom Responsibilities:
Assist the classroom teacher in supervision and management of children
Interact with and encourage children in daily activities
Assist the teacher as needed in planning learning activities
Help prepare the classroom and materials needed for lessons and activities each week
Assist with documentation of children’s development, health, and behavior
Prepare snacks
Maintain classroom and materials to meet licensing and health department standards
Communicate positively with parents
2. Staff Responsibilities:
Find a substitute teacher when needed and provide lesson plans for the substitute
Stay aware of and comply with personnel policies and procedures
Remain informed about all rules regulating childcare facilities
Attend monthly staff meetings, in-service days, and other mandatory preschool and church functions (in addition to normal work hours)
Follow procedures outlined in the staff handbook and guidelines from the director
Represent Redeemer Early Childhood Center and Redeemer Lutheran Church positively in the community
Participate in special committees or teams as needed
3. General Requirements:
Meet general requirements for all personnel as stated in 7.702.51 of the Rules Regulating Child Care Centers, including:
Staff members must be current on all immunizations routinely recommended for adults by their health care provider.
All staff members must submit to the center a medical statement, signed and dated by a licensed physician or other health-care professional, verifying good mental, physical, and emotional health appropriate for the position. This statement must be dated no more than six (6) months prior to employment or within thirty (30) days after the date of employment.
Complete all required trainings annually
Arrive fifteen minutes before the start of class and remain fifteen minutes after class ends
Attend all school days and events as outlined on the staff calendar

Education:
Meets Colorado Department of Early Childhood requirements for an early childhood assistant

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Compensation Range:
Compensation is based on Poudre School District’s Classified Staff Salary Schedule, with a starting rate of $18.20/hour.
